Founded in 1953 by Art Weiss. Mr. Weiss was instrumental in shaping the future of El Monte and South El Monte. He was the first planning commissioner and a prominent developer of the area, having a profound and lasting influence on the business community for decades to come, facilitating business growth and success for both the entrepreneur and large corporate entities.
Ms. Sawyer received her real estate license at just 18 and a half in the state of Washington and quickly realized that selling residential real estate in 1970 in a depressed market such as Seattle was too difficult. For that reason, she returned to California to complete her degree in record time, to become one of the youngest women brokers in California at age 20! With an entrepreneurial effort she worked tirelessly by day in real estate, and by night, an Alta Dena dairy truck owner operator and Mack truck driver. Ms. Sawyer would work for the next 30 years in her father’s office, Art Weiss, helping to create shape what is now Art Weiss Industrial Properties, San Gabriel Valley’s leading industrial real estate company.
